Viet Nature Conservation Centre

Launching “Cleaning – up” campaign

From October 3 to October 15, 2019, Viet Nature Conservation Center (Viet Nature) has cooperated with the schools under the project of “Capacity building for environmental education in schools and communities” to launch the cleaning-up campaign with the participation of about 250 students. Before the start of the campaign, the students were guided how to sort garbage, which will be classified into three categories: inorganic waste, organic waste and recyclable waste. We also explained that maintaining a clean environment is essential and important.

There are some difficulties such as all the project sites are located in remoted mountainous areas with difficult economic conditions, so facilities for waste collection are limited. However, at the end of the campaign, we collected 100 kg of garbage with 10 kg of recyclable waste around the school and the residential area.

By participating in this campaign, students will raise more love and care about nature and the environment. Students will tell their parents and relatives to put garbage in the prescribed places and mitigate the usage of plastic bags. We hope that similar campaigns will be regularly implemented in other areas so that the environment is always green – clean – beautiful.
